Japan on Saturday kicked off an unprecedented 10-day holiday as airports were packed with a record number of travelers while people queued at auto teller machines in the cash-dominated nation, AFP reported. 据法新社报道，27日起，日本开启史无前例的10天长假，各个机场人满为患，游客数量创纪录；在这个以现金为主的国度里，自动提款机前也排起了长队。

The number of travelers at home and overseas during the long holiday is expected to hit a record 24.67 million, according to Japanese travel agency JTB. 日本旅行社JTB的数据显示，长假期间，日本境内游和出境游人数预计将达到创纪录的2467万人。

The long holiday combines two celebration days for the imperial transition with the traditional "Golden Week" in May. 此次长假合并了庆祝新天皇继位的两天假期和五月传统的"黄金周"。

However, some people are concerned about limited public and medical services while others who have to work complain about child care during the holiday. 不过有人担忧有限的公共和医疗服务会不堪重负，还有人则因长假期间的育儿负担而吐槽。

A survey by the Asahi Shimbun daily showed 45% of Japanese "felt unhappy" about the long vacation, with only 35% saying they "felt happy". 《朝日新闻》的一项调查显示，45%的日本人对长假"并不感到开心"，仅35%的人表示"很开心"。
